London and Surrey project wins: A strong start for our new office

We’re pleased to share recent projects since opening our new London/Surrey office.

In response to increased demand and recognising the importance of local expertise, we’ve expanded with a new office in the London/Surrey area.

Since opening in June 2026, we’ve been busy securing work across a range of projects, from residential to large commercial, supporting teams with our building control expertise.

Here are a few projects we’ve recently secured and will support in the coming weeks and months.

1-3 Frederick Gardens, Croydon

Harwood has been appointed to provide building control services for the new build development of 17 new flats at Frederick Gardens in Croydon.

Our London/Surrey team will work alongside the project team throughout the development, providing building control expertise and supporting compliance as the scheme progresses through design and construction.

Hastings SEND School, College Central, Tile Barn Road, St Leonards-on-Sea

We’ve been awarded the project to support, with our expertise, the construction of a new alternative provision school in St Leonards-on-Sea.

Education projects bring a range of building control considerations, such as Building Bulletin 100 (BB100), and our team will provide the technical expertise required to support the project team and help ensure the new facility meets the relevant regulatory requirements.

Royal Sussex County Hospital, Easter Road, Brighton

Our team has also been appointed to support refurbishment works at Royal Sussex County Hospital.’

The project involves refurbishing and reconfiguring the fifth-floor acute facilities within Block B. This project will draw on our healthcare sector experience to meet regulatory requirements while navigating an existing healthcare environment.

Harwood will be supporting internal refurbishment and alteration works at Queens Park Primary School in London.

The fit-out project includes internal alterations to the ground and lower ground floors to create office accommodation and a presentation/lecture room.

These latest appointments mark a strong start for our London/Surrey office and show our commitment to supporting local projects across the region.
