Jayden’s karting success leads to more exciting opportunities as Formula car racing approaches
March 24, 2026

We take immense pride in supporting professional and personal growth at Harwood – not only within our own team, but also across the wider community. A great example of this is our sponsorship of rising motorsport star Jayden Sherwood.
Supporting Jayden for the past eight years, we’ve watched him grow immensely. His recent achievements, including his title as the 2025 National Kart Cup Junior Rotax Champion, fill us with pride and reinforce our confidence in his potential.
But the progress doesn’t stop there. A new and exciting chapter awaits, and we’re proud to support Jayden every step of the way.#
Here we take a look at his journey so far, why we’re proud to support him, and how his success is opening new doors at the highest levels of motorsport development.
From promising young driver to national champion
Harwood has been supporting Jayden Sherwood’s journey since he was just eight years old, watching his talent in karting shine through. Recognising his potential behind the wheel early on, we wanted to support him in giving himself the best possible chance of success.
Our sponsorship provides Jayden with essential resources such as equipment, training, and development opportunities, helping him continue to progress towards professional motorsport.
At just eight years old, he began his competitive journey, finishing 4th in the BKC National Championship in his first full season of Honda Cadet racing against drivers up to 13 years old. The talent was clear from the start, and there has been no looking back since.
Jayden has continued to grow from strength to strength. Over the past two years, he has consistently demonstrated his ability on track, securing notable achievements, including 2024 NKC Junior Vice-Champion, 2024 Southern Cup Champion, and, most recently, 2025 National Kart Cup Junior Rotax Champion.
Following this success, Jayden is now preparing for his next challenge – moving up to the senior karting class a year early, where he will race against adult competitors in the 2026 British Kart Championship.
Recognition from a top-level motorsport team
Jayden’s performances have not gone unnoticed within the motorsport world. Recently, he was approached directly by Arden Motorsport Academy, a championship-winning Formula 3 and Formula 4 race team, who had been following his progress in national karting and, more recently, his move into simulator racing.#
After monitoring his development over time, Jayden was approached to take part in an invite-only simulator assessment at their headquarters earlier this year.
The session formed part of Arden’s structured process for identifying future single-seater talent. Working closely with engineers, Jayden completed multiple runs to demonstrate both his ability behind the wheel and his potential to progress into GB4, an entry-level championship for drivers aspiring to reach Formula 1 racing.
Following the assessment and a full review of the data, Arden Motorsport confirmed some fantastic news.
Jayden has now been invited to join the Arden Motorsport Academy, a respected driver development programme. This marks a significant milestone in his career, positioning him within a championship-winning team in a professional development environment as he works towards his long-term goal of racing competitively by 2027.
Following this fantastic news, Ben Cheeseman, Commercial Director at Harwood Building Control, said:
“This is fantastic news. We’re very proud to represent and sponsor Jayden. So much hard work has gone into earning this recognition and moving into Arden Academy. His journey so far has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are excited to see what happens next.”
Whilst the talented Jayden does the real work on the track, he and his team are equally appreciative of the long-term support that has helped make these opportunities possible.
Tim Sherwood, Jayden’s Dad and Manager, adds:
We’re incredibly grateful for Harwood’s continued support; opportunities like this simply wouldn’t happen without long-term backing. Knowing that a local company believes in him has been a massive motivator for Jayden, allowing him to focus on developing his skills and advancing to the next level. We’re excited about the direction this is heading and look forward to continuing the journey together.”
The next chapter
Jayden’s journey is beginning to take shape. With his move into the senior kart class, entry into the 2026 British Kart Championship, and now a place within the Arden Academy development programme, the next stage of his career promises to be incredibly exciting.
At Harwood, we believe investing in local sport, culture and emerging talent creates opportunities, strengthens community connections and reflects our core values of support and growth. What Jayden has achieved so far is incredible and shows what is possible when the right belief and backing support talent.]
We’re proud to be part of Jayden’s journey so far and look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings.
